Crew Cab, you can flip the rear seat brackets, to gain a couple more inches for behind the seat.
If you have center console you can get a stealth box, to fit underneath it, or with the jump seat you could do a shallow 10 or 8 under the seat bottom.

Well I have a crew cab, but I can't find any boxes that will fit behind the seat
I'm actually running the JL 5X7 Coax's in the doors and rear, with the one 10, driven by a Kicker single channel, with a Kenwood KIV head unit. Nothing too special but I like the sound.
I actually use to have the cheapo Pioneer Coax's in my old 99 and the sound with those over stock are actually pretty good too.
I have a downward firing 10" pioneer in a console between two front buckets, and 2 12"s in a box firing up sitting on the rear "tool tray area". Mounted it with a couple hinges so i can pull the pins & remove if i need space for more tools, parts, what have you...
I dont like how big the rear box is... but it was bought, i didnt build it...
Both boxes sealed.
I can hear my system hit from a good 1/4 mile if i chose to turn the dials that high up.
Would like to change up and do a custom box up in the rear/upper corner of the cab... angled to fire down/forward. 2 10's & 2 8's. The 12's are too slow for metal/industrial...
I have a cc. I have 2-10" mtx thin line subs and a 1200 watt jl amp in the center of the box. Built my own box to put behind the rear seat. These were the only subs I could find to fit. Hence the name "thinlines".
I would suggest getting decent rear speakers, because the stock ones are junk and get muffled when you turn it way up. Unless you can run the subs separately from the other speakers from the cd player
I had a CC, and a buddy that was in the business built me a custom box for a shallow 10. (clarion I think) and an old Roxford amp I put under the passanger seat. it was just right. left it in when I sold the truck.
the box was a little small from suggested specs. but worked for me. nothing special.
guess you could get a second box on each side. I just had one.
I don't remember who it was but someone here lifted there rear seat not for subs but so his kids could see ahead of them driving down the road. If I recall right he used 3x2" box tubing. Hope that helps if you want them under the seat
Hummm That's interesting... I've been wondering the same thing. I've got a CC with a console and I've heard about the box that goes in the console but I don't want to give up that space. This box here looks like a good option. Does anyone have any personal experiences with it?
I am wanting to put in some subwoofers in my truck, but I don't know of I'll have to put them under the back seat or behind it. Please help!
Chris,
I've got two kicker comp vr 12's in a custom sealed box behind my back seat (its a CC). I'm not sure if you're interested or where you are located but I'd be willing to sell the setup to you. The amp went out which coincided nicely with the birth of my first child so I don't really see the need to replace the amp and have the back seat shake my child like crazy. I'll take pics of the setup and details about how it's installed in case you just want to do something similar for yourself.
