the snowplow prep package that Ford offers for the F150 includes higher rated front springs (along with the trans cooler HD trans, super engine cooling, etc.) to handle the extra weight of the plow . . . I believe they don't want to invest a uprated front suspension system for the Expy to worry over such a small marketing oppertunity.
So if I got one of those low budget jobs (no hydraulics; essentially just a shovel that attaches the front of my truck that I get out and manually raise and lower) I could easily plow the light snow we get here in Maryland?
I be willing to be that with light snow, and a small lightweight plow you could get away with it......Of course I would only do a smally driveway or so.... I really don't think that the front end would hold up long enough with a plow attached to do any serious "money making" plowing.
I have a 2000 Expedition with a Meyer power angle snow plow because my driveway is much to long for a snowblower or shoveling. I wouldn't reccomend driving around with the plow on or using it commercially, but for doing your own driveway it's not a problem
