Help!
Test drove them both on Monday. Both drove fine. Picked them up yesterday and drove 1 mile to a gas station. Everything was fine. Filled up the tanks and proceeded home. On the way my 94 Aerostar did not want to go. The engine is reving but it seems like the transmission was not engaging. It would take 30 seconds before it would shift into the next gear.
Today I changed the filter and fluid in the tranny. Looked old but no metal was found in the pan. The problem is still there. Spoke to the guy who rebuilt my Astro Vans tranny last year and he said it does not sound like the tranmission, especially since there was no metal found in the pan. Said it could be the modulator or something else. Also told me that qa rebuilt for this would be $795. Reasonable I thought.
Anyway, anybody ever experience anything like this. Lack of power and the transmission not shifting normally. I can put the pedal to the floor and I'm lucky if I hit 20 mph in 30 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.

If a modulator is bad it would not require a whole rebuild.
DO NOT DRIVE your vehicle in this condition! It will quickly burn up the transmission and wear out all of the clutches and bands.
Not sure if it's the cause of your problem, but it might be worth looking into.
