yeah I understand they are trying to change the firing order / way the injectors pulse.
I guess I was trying to reason why someone would not just pull there harness and swap some wires and add a few and keep some bank ?
that is where I was lost.
it's just about how much skills someone has. I prefer to upgrade/modify the original harness, that way I knew it worked for that vehicle at one point. I have also got a used harness from a truck and cleaned, converted, added custom wires, etc. But since this one was from another truck, I checked ALL the connections to make sure they were all the same, I did need to move a few wires.
I read that thread, but did not see a answer in it.
it should be something like " a9l"...which would be the mustang computer for a manual, I believe with 2 o2 sensors.
Again please excuse my lack of FORD specific knowledge.
if you want the pcm to control the trans, you might be able to use the ahaca strategy if you are odb 1. that will control the e4od. but the problem you run into with a strategy like this is there are less people that know about ahaca than a9l/a9p so you might have trouble getting a tune and support for it in the community.
Obviously this is not my daily driver, however I do not have any plans for disassembly, till I have all the parts here and read, but the tune / issue is kind of pricey to, but I do understand the value of knowledge, so I would gladly pay what I HAVE to.
It almost makes me wonder about a standalone and dump the eec altogether, when / if you must use a standalone for the trans.

ah yes, I commented on that thread also. as much as I'd like a tune that controls my trans, I know the tweecer tuner supports ahaca but I don't like the tweecer or the inventor, so I'm plenty content with what I have now. just haven't looked to change so I'm not sure if support for ahaca is increasing or just what.
yes, from all the neg~ on the tweecer , I wrote it off.
I know who Craig Moates is from the corvette world and his name is good there.
Although any time I have talked to him, he could only comment on the hardware and had no irons in the software fire.
don't get that, it's ****. that air adjuster is just stupid. you won't use it at all with a tuner. here's what you want:
latest version of Moates Quarterhorse RT tuner, use free tunerpro software to start
slot style mass air sensor, used on newer explorers and other cars. it's more robust than the older version, reads faster too. look for an auction with the sensor and a housing based on the size you want. it'll look similar to what's in this auction.
decide what computer you want (I'd suggest going with the a9l and an aftermarket trans controller for your specific trans, so you don't blow it up
I can help you with wiring. if you want to buy fuel injection harnesses, they make them or I can help you make one.
edit: I assume your truck now is odb 1 and not odb 2
