Help on specs F100
I have just bought a 1982 F100 with a 6 cyl engine and an auto box.
This is th sum total of all knowledge that I have on this truck, other than a chassis and engine number.
Can anybody help me with how to identify what engine I have, including cc oc Cu inches, Hp, load capacity (dont even know if its a 1 ton or whatever)
I am in South Africa and there are not a lot of these trucks around, so any help appreciated. Also I am a total novice with this type of truck.
Many Thanks
The GVWR for your truck can range from 4650 lb. to 5050 lb., which is generally even more light duty than a typical half ton.
It should say on the sticker on the driver's door jamb. Post the other codes on it and we can decode them here.
It has these little fuses that are half the size of the normal ones we get here, and I cannot find a supplier. I will probably have to change the whole fuse-box.
The only numbers I have are:
Engine number: HEC64X
Chassis: AX2JUA70139764970
It is Right Hand Drive.
Other than the rust problem, which will be sorted out in a couple of months when I have sold a whole heap of pontoon bass boats, I have found 2 fuel leaks, rewired half the electrics, and had to make a temporary grill while i go look for a second-hand one at the scrapyards.
No stisckers on door jambs.
