First off I found my problem with my four wheel drive. It is the transfer case. I drained the fluid and found metal, plastic, and clumps of metal mixed with oil. So, I found a guy who has a 2004 F250 5.4 gas burner. He is parting the truck out and wants to sell the auto trans and auto transfer case for $300. I don't need the trans. It is all out of the truck. He told me the truck has 250,000 miles. He also said he drove the truck to his house. The only problem he says with the truck is it has a stacked bearing. So would yall pass? Will the t-case work on my truck? Or should I just buy a t-case from transfercases.com for $820.00 and be done. I have a 2001 F250 7.3 auto trans and auto t-case.

Well, I come from the do it once club. At my point in life the labor means more to me than money, so I go with the best part first. I only want to do the job once. I do not believe the used parts would fit, but an expert will come along and give you the scoop before long.
EDIT: I am almost certain it will not work, different tranny so I am betting the t-case is different.
