Smile 1999 ford f250 5.4l v8

i have a 1999 ford f250 with a5.4l trition in v8 it burns oil only when it sit and idles like when it sit in park or at a stop light when u drive it . it quit burning oil i dont know y i changed the pvc valve in it today that didnt help what next i need help figuring this out thanks.

mine is doing the same thing. i am pulling my engine this weekend at some point. i have a dead cylinder. when i rip into mine and find out what is going on i will see if any thing will help you out, that is if you can wait a few days.

yes i can mine not a dead cylinder it just foul out the plug too.let me know ok im thinking it the valve seals in it.

mine too! seems like its comeing from the passanger side rear of engine! valve cover or intake!!

check your intake bolts, esp. if you are using coolant. my plenum was loose. i think that is one thing that started my problem.

yes im coolent where is the plenum at .did u take your motor out yet

i got to change my plug it foul out i got put a new one in

then the question is why did it foul out?thats what mine was/is doing. but only on cylinder 5. something is causing the plug to go.

mine only doing it on cylinder 5 to what causeing it to do that.

I have no idea yet. I will let you know what I find when I rip into my motor this week. What do your plugs look like? I welded an insert to my plug and melted the electrode off.I think I may also have a crack in the plenum. Acting like a torch.

the guy i got it off sayed he just changed the plugs in it so i dont know .

Cool

sorry for the delay... i just finished my swap. what i found with my old motor..broken valve. on #5 cyl. how ever i still have a miss with the "new" engine. i haven't had a chance to locate it yet. i am thinking this now has something to do with my harness.

take the spark plug wire off the cylinder that keeps fouling the plug while the engine is running. if the engine speed drops or it runs rougher then the cylinder isnt dead, but if it sounds the same w/o the wire then the cylinder is dead

p.s. use pliers with rubber on them or you might get a nice shock.

i changed my plug the day before and when i put the new plug in it and drove it it foul out right way when i toke it out yesterday it was full of gas what it doing now.

change cops and see if the miss follows. and make sure the cops are plugged in.
