I had the front rotors and pads replaced on my 95 Bronco about 2 months ago, and since then they squeak at low speed stops, a real high pitched squeal. Is there something I can do, like cleaning or some sort of spray to stop this? It makes driving with the windows down really annoying.
I have the same problem on my 92. I've been told try anti-rattle clips, or that gummy compound that reduces rattle and vibration. I've tried both with limited success. Its time to do front brakes again anyway so I may try something else this time. Semi-metallics do it more than standards but I am going to try and find the ceramic ones for the front since I am tired of cleaning rust off my new Mickey Thompson Challengers. Supposedly, the ceramic ones reduce sqeal noise and emit less dust than semi-metallics. We'll see. Don' t know if I really answered your quesiton but I am familiar with the problem.
The thing is the brakes had never squeaked for the 2.5 years I had owned the truck previously. Now, when I get new rotors and pads they squeak, which just doesn't make sense.
mine does it to, it also makes a little rumbling sound at very low speeds, i blam it on gosh darnn NAPA ****, i have ford rotors and NAPA pads, never again will i buy there ****.
They probably used cheap pads.I find that if you use the NAPA gold pads and turn the rotors they won't squeak. The good pads come with a backing that helps eliminate noise. You can also buy some lube to do the same thing.
the bottom line and middle line pads do not come with metal orcoated backing inserts . my brakes did this squealing until i took the inserts off of the first set of pads and installed them on the new ones. this stopped the noise immeadiatly.i also had the rumbleing like trucky18, it sounded like the brakes were shot. this also was resolved with the installation of the backing inserts.
