Things I've noticed so far

I've owned the "used" 2009 now for what......3 months or so? Other than the items I already knew about, like the steering wheel that has been compromised by some sort of deterioration done by the previous owner ("from hand cream" they tell me), for example; I have begun to notice a few other things.

1. The "Ford" emblem on the front grill has a piece of the plastic protective material worn off it (not a big deal of course, but no visible damage is always preferable).

2. When I make a more significant left turn, I feel and hear a thump in the steering column that I wonder about.

3. Unless I really slam the right rear door, I get messages about the door being ajar.

4. The aftermarket Bed Cover cross rails from a Ford OEM keep sliding out of position.

5. It cost me over $100.00 to fill the tank in Virginia on my first gas stop when the tank showed me 1/4 left!!!

6. Cigarettes are (as in years past) STILL much cheaper in South Carolina!!!

I wonder if these vehicle has been in some sort of crash. Perhaps damaged front end and deployed the drivers air bag. Just a guess, but you have an unusual collection of oddities.
I also have a '09 with 36 gal tank. This week every day adds about $5 to the fill up. Put $101 a week ago @$3.73, now it is $3.95. Ugh. At least I don't smoke....

I went from a 2007 4x4 SCrew Lariat 5.4 with a 24 gallon tank to a 2013 4x4 SCrew King Ranch EB with a 36 gallon tank on Saturday. Avg MPG is about the same so far, but she isn't broken in yet.

The plan is to fill the tank up early and often so I don't have to see those huge bills $$$. Already topped her off twice.

It was a "Certified" vehicle, with no evidence of any accident on the CarFax Report.
