I've always liked the 92-96 F150 body style, and have wanted to buy one to have as a second vehicle. I found a 1994 model with 121,000 miles a few hours from me that seems to be in good condition. I was wondering what all of you think a fair price for this truck would be. I sent an e-mail to the dealership, and the owner said he would negotiate. Thanks for your help! Here is a link to the ad listing the truck:
I would be at 3500 it's a real clean truck but the questions u gotta ask urself is that mileage the real mileage an even if it is its a 19 yo truck I'm pretty sure ur goin to have some dry rot issues I wouldn't go ova 3500
That price is somewhat expected from a dealer. The same truck sold personally on craigslist might have an asking price of $5000 on the high side. If you're set on that specific truck, buy it. If not, just keep your eyes open until a better deal comes up. You can probably negotiate down a bit with the dealer. It all comes down to your own opinion on whether it's worth what you'd pay for it.
In my area of the states, they'd be lucky to get 2500 for that because it's a 2wd, even if it is super clean. But, 3000-3500 would be a fair price to pay if 2wd isn't an issue.

Same, 2wd do not sell very well over here.
As for that truck, looks to be incredibly clean, but I'll agree with everyone that it is way over-priced. I wouldn't go a penny over $4000 if 4x4 isn't a big deal for you. I don't care how nicely something is kept, or if it is garaged most of its life. 19 years is an old vehicle, things age and break. It just happens.
it might be different around other parts but around here where i live 4wd will only add 600 dollars to the price. also if your worried about 4wd dont be my ol man drove a 2wd 4.9 mazdog f150 for 8 years with an open diff with no problems. we usually get a storm that drops 20 inches of snow a year. infact there's one set for us tommorow and sunday.(not saying 2wd is better just saying you can get through some fairly deep snow with 2wd)
Looks to be in very nice shape and is full power which is nice. Best part is it's a 94 yet it's a MAF truck which is pretty rare. I would try to get them down to 4500 at the most. If you really cared about 4x4 it's an easy and cheap enough swap if you go to the scrappers.
Thanks for the replies and advice. I'm ok with it being a 2WD, as I really don't need 4WD. I am planning on driving up there this weekend to see what I can do with the numbers.
You will have to keep in mind that the dealer will have a substantial mark up so they can turn a decent profit, but from a private buyer I could see paying a little less then 4k
