Ok so I just bought my 99 expedition last week an the service engine soon light was on when I got it I took it to autozone today so they can pull the codes on it an it was the p0401 which is the EGR but my question is would this cause it to have a miss an a slow acceleration???
It's a 99 with the 4.6 triton it has 213,000 miles on it an it has the two coil packs on the front one on the passenger side an one on the driver side with wires that look to be farly new
The plugs get changed every 100K miles. So it's possible they're 13K overdue. I just went through this with my Navigator, due to an intermittent starting issue. I have 150K on it and the previous owner never changed the plugs at 100K. So the plugs I pulled out had 150K on them. The new set of plugs solved the starting issue and the engine runs very smooth.
Well this weekend I plan on doing the plugs wires oil change an pulling the throttle body an cleaning out the EGR valve an ports so hopefully this solves it after that ill be on to changing the bushings on the passenger side cuz it has that anoying squeak when turning an going up a curb
