There's people that will shell that kind of money out. Me? by that time I saved that many penny's I could build a hot rod for my great grandkids, great grandkids
Hmm. seems if you want the vintage look you could spend half as much and just build your own original flathead. About the only thing they didnt do to this engine was cut it in half and make it a boxster.
Now the deck plate is what has my gears starting to turn. I like the idea of adding deck and sleeving. First ting that comes to mind is adding1.0 inches of deck to make a 302 the same deck height as a cleveland. Stroker crank with 302 mains, long rod and C pistons. I bet that bad boy would spool real nice. And i do have a blown up 302 sitting in my 65 merc...
They don't say much about performance, other than it has some.
You'd think a company that builds and sells custom flatheads and dynos would at least put the two together and see what happens. At least I would.
IF it works, and works well. And IF it has the performance a 402 Flattie should have. It might be cheaper than punching an original out to 400+ cubes and the power it SHOULD produce.
I would of course be more than happy to beta test a few of these bad boys. It's the least I could do in the name of performance science.
Looks awesome, if I win the lottery I'll buy one LOL. I really like how they used the windsor as a base. If they sold the dyno'd version for $12,000 They would prolly make more money in the long run cause more people would buy. $30,000 is too much for a average guy....shoot what am I saying....$12,000 is a lot! I know I couldn't drop 12 grand on an engine...ever lol
Okay, so this post has been burning in my mind the past week. I have spent a few days (literally), trying to find the bore spacing for a flathead 8.A few days wasted could really find anything. So eventually I went to the garage and grabbed the tap measure( yes I know not very accurate). I roughly measured 3.1875 bore ( 3 and 3/16) and .75 inches worth of meat between the cylinders. Added together nets a total spacing of 3.9375. I can only find one family of ford engines with a near exact match to that cylinder spacing. And thats the modular family 4.6/5.0/5.4/5.8.
Now Ive done some digging. The sohc set up, on the staggered deck of the flatty, means the timing chains would be complete pain to get set up.
I was hoping some sort of 4 cylinder ohv head would fit. But they are all too narrow.

You aren't likely to see any dyno pulls published. It's going to make 100+ HP less than real stroker Windsor with the right heads. It's a cool novelty though. Somebody put some serious time into the conversion.
The first thing that I thought was what bad pictures. The paint on the block is bad, it's dirty, the coil is crusty, nothing is shiny, there is rust in the water pumps...
One thing that gets me is that suddenly BOOM there is this super engine - I have not heard one thing about this or the company before this post
FlatheadJack spent 15 years on his New Flatmotor - I'm not even sure that he finished it.
Kirby spent almost ten years on his aluminum block
