Hey guys, have an issue that popped up on my 2012 F-150 today. I was driving a bit today and when I returned home and shut the truck off I noticed that the right turn signal indicator stayed faintly illuminated. None of the lights outside are affected, and they all work normally, just that the indicator on the dash is staying lit. Anyone run in to something like this? The only thing I can see is that last week I smashed up the drivers side mirror and it busted the lens off of the LED lights in the mirror and 1 LED bulb is exposed. It did rain a bit today but I figured it would short out and blow a fuse if anything.
I will undo the negative battery cable tomorrow and see if it will reset, if not I will have te dealer check it out when I drop it off to have the roof reprinted next week.
The owners manual states that if one of those lights are on to check for a bulb that is burned. I removed every light on the exterior of that truck today and no bulbs are burned out. I dont get it. Im sure the dealer will figure it out.

A renegade ground? Just thinking out loud, let us know what is found.
I will. Im not chasing a ground on a vehicle under warranty, swapping bulbs and trying basic stuff if fine but nothing more then that. Usually trying a new flasher would be in order but my understanding is that these trucks dont use the traditional type.
This will be warranty repair #3 in 8 months and 13,000 miles. Trying to read the writing on the wall, and its telling me to definitely buy an extended warranty on this pig at the moment.
I got to poking around under the dash. Just to the left of the brake pedal, there is a speaker with a wrap plugged into it (I guess the speaker is to emulate the flasher noise). Out of the wire wrap is a smaller bundle that continues up behind the gauge cluster. I noticed that if I play with the smaller bundle, I can either make the light go off, OR make the left indicator light illuminate.
I assume my problem lies in that wrap. After I discovered this and played with it for a minute, I went for a drive. During that drive the right indicator would get brighter and dimmer until it finally settled where it had been and the drivers indicator went off. I also noticed that when I use the switch to turn the drivers signal on the dim passenger indicator will blink in tandem.
I'm fairly certain it's a ground issue as it did go off for a day or so and came back. Again this is all while the exterior lights and signals act normally. What puzzles me is that the indicator stays illuminated even after the ignition switch is off.
At the very least, you now have a great starting point to give to a dealership to sort it out....many times you can't make a problem reappear when you take something to the dealership. Hope you get it sorted out soon....even small things like this can be frustrating.
I dropped the truck off this morning to have the drop rails fixed. I also showed them various pictures and video I had taken of the turn signal issue and they wrote that up too.
Sooo, for the next few days I am driving around in the rental Focus they gave me. I fit my big **** in that as good as I would a speedo, but no charge to me so no complaints.
