How's it going everyone? I got a question about a fuel leak, and any extra input would help thanks! Well its a 95 f250 PSD. And a while back I had a pretty bad fuel leak and i eventually figured out it was coming from the fuel pump. I got a brand new one and installed it and the fuel leak completely stoped. This was probably about 5-7 months ago I replaced the fuel pump and now all of a sudden its leaking fuel again. Saw it this morning drippin pretty bad under the truck on passengers side under the oil pan. And there's a puddle of fuel in the valley of the engine under the banjo bolt. Is it possible the fuel pump went bad already? I'm gonna try to tighten the bolts print the pump to the engine and the banjo. Is there any other places this leak might be coming from?

did you replace the little blue lines when you did the pump?
I didn't. Are you talking about the two hoses underneath the metal cover that sits on top?
There's actually 3 - one is way down on the bottom. Mine were really brittle and maybe when you put the new pump in it gave extra pressure to wear them down? Just a guess, but pull the cover, clean everything really well - maybe some brake clean to get it all shiny - then have someone start it and track the flow of fuel.
Actually I do remember replacing all the hoses going into the fuel before I replaced the actual fuel pump hoping it was just the hoses. But it wasn't so I had to just get the fuel pump after all. So ya those hoses and fuel pump aren't even barely 6 months old
Ya that sounds like a good plan. I replaced the fuel filter just recently also. Maybe I didn't turn the lid tight enough. But I'm gonna soak it all up and see what I can find. Thanks man appreciate it!
did you use standard duty fuel line from a parts store or the hd hose?also clamps? I use the clamps for fuel injection and not the worm clamps.
also check the hard lines at the other end from the banjo bolt.those connections have square cut seals that CAN fail. otherwise just carry on with your plan
I found the leak. It was the small hose on the very bottom going from the fuel pump to the fuel filter. The clamp on the fuel filter side was the culprit. Leak free now!

Great news!
Add on question: Where do you get the fuel hose for the other parts of the fuel basket? I have the 3 little blue ones Ford sells, but there appear to be maybe 2 more hoses on there that must be return lines or something. You can't just use any old fuel line, right? Napa and Advanced near me had no diesel-rated hose - if there even is such a thing. Need to do my fuel pump and basket o-rings tomorrow or Thursday but need those hoses first.

Well I think somebody mentioned something about the clamps of those hoses above

You can use anything else that meets SAE J30R9 specs.
You are welcome
The 'MPI/Fuel Injection' hose, 30R9 spec, was recently tested to meet some diesel hose requirements at Freightliner and was passed on to the truck market. The hose meets a 302F temp requirement making it ideal for the engine valley on our trucks.
The hose is available at Gates distributors under part numbers:
27082 (10 ft pkg) and 27094 (25 ft pkg) for 1/4"
27085 and 27095 for 5/16"
27088 and 27096 for 3/8"
You can get it at NAPA also, just have them convert the Gates PN to NAPA.
