Ive got a 77 ford F-250 ranger 4x4 that i am planning to drop in a 302 and 4 speed manual tranny that ive got. This is my first 4x4 project as i have worked only on 2x4 until now. What transfer cases if any would i be able to mate up to the 4 speed tranny i have? its a 4 speed OD toploader out of a 79 1/2 ton van. Thanks for the help.
Ha! how helpful thanks for your thoughtful input... I had this built 302 in my van before the wiring shorted all out and it spun tire like nobodys business. Far from gutless i would say. And better on gas than a big block.
ok not enough information here yet. is your 77 a yearly or later build model? does the truck have two or three driveshafts? whats in the truck currently for motor trans and transfercase?
