I am planning to adjust my kickdown on the AOD tomorrow, and I need to buy a pressure gauge. Does anyone know if the pressure port puts out fluid or air pressure?
Medicpg,
Word of caution: be VERY certain you set the pressure correctly. That is CRUCIAL with an AOD. You could burn up the tranny pretty quickly otherwise. While my motor/AOD trans were out during the recent IFS install, I noticed that the tranny shop wrote "3-5 lbs pressure or warranty voided" in indullable ink on top of the tranny bell housing. I'm assuming that applies to the pressure cable setting. I also remember the tranny builder/installer mentioning more than once how crucial getting the pressure and linkage correct is on an AOD.
I'd hate to see you blow the tranny, so I just had to throw in my $.02 when I saw your thread about messing with an AOD's pressure settings.
Thanks Daryl....I have been hearing that alot. I am going to ive it a try and if I am the least bit unsure I am going to bring it to a shop to see if the can do it for me.
