I have a 2000 f350 powerstroke 6 speed 230000 miles and when i drive at a constant speed i get a a noise coming from the floor board around my shifter *** that sounds like an exhaust break and when i let off the throttle or increase my speed it stops. can someone please help me out on what this could be

Welcome to FTE:
I am not a pro, but I would look at the up pipes and gaskets.

I don't suppose you could record the sound and post it on YoutTube?

When I replaced my exhaust, I was unable to keep it away from the crossmember, and from time to time it lays on it, sending the exhaust sound through my cab. Not happy with the exhaust, and dont feel motivated to change it until I can upgrade, so not worried . Will take more care with the next one.

i do have stacks on the truck but it only makes the noise when the truck is cold and like i said only when i keep the throttle at a constant speed. once the truck warms up it stops making the noise

Without hearing it I would lean to EBPV. This is normal operation. If is warm where you live you can do a EBPV delete.

Exhaust back Pressure valve (EBPV) it helps warm up the truck when it is closed. Some people turn this valve into a exhaust brake. It closes to increase RPM.

Be careful, putting too much back pressure on you engine could damage it. Do you research before you do this.

The EBPV Should not be engaging while you are driving if it is there is something wrong with it OR a related sensor... I had a similar problem and I checked my truck for hidden or soft DTC codes and one of them was for my Air intake temp sensor so i decided to start with that since it was cheap and easy to replace. I have not had that issue since replacing that sensor...
