like i said, i have never seen an oil burner with a cat here unless it was a 6.0 or newer, or cali spec. even my 02 7.3 did not have a cat on it.

7.3's were supposed to have cats and a resonator.

Exhaust gas is not hot enough to support a real CAT, no O2 sensor. Inside it's just lots of fine screen wire mesh (90* cross pattern) to help eliminate diesel particles, such as black smoke.
