Hey guys I'm new here and been trying to find help. I have a 97 expedition 5.4. Lately I been having problems. First my windows went down very slow then my head lights started flickering then while I was driving my horn stopped working along with my window and electrical components on my cluster. Once my cluster started working again so did my horn and windows but they were slow. When I would park my truck the next morning it would turn over but sound like it was going to die. Also while driving it would shutter as if it was going to stall like it has no gas. My radio would blink on and off interior lights were dim. At times I would get this odor of something burning. I took out my gem to check but it had no signs of water damage. I put it back in and tried to jump my truck but it won't crank nothing. Horn works but windows don't. I live in my and this all started after hurricane sandy. I park my truck one night during the storm and when I shut the car off I heard the draining sound of water but I heard it from passenger side. I saw no water on the floor and my heat works so I know it's not the heater core. Wanna know if the gem controls the starting of the car. Don't wanna spend 300 on a gem and its not the problem. I would Appreciate any help. My email is rhothunder13@msn.com
Everything you've described points to a problem with the battery cables not making a good connection. Check both ends, not just the battery terminals. If the cables check out okay, then you might need a new battery. But since a jump didn't help, I'd lean more towards the cables than the battery.
Woke up this morning car sound like it wanted to crank but didn't. Charged the battery cranked up just fine. After I took the key out ALL the lights were still on on the dash. Radio only worked in park n is making a frying noise under hood n next to fuse box inside truck. Took it to several ppl they font know what it is. PLEASE HELP!!
