New engine, I still need to assemble it and then do exhaust, the problem is finding the time to do it and get my Jeep ready for a big run for the following weekend

Do you have all the parts and a place to do it? I can lend a capable hand after my honeymoon and things calm a little.

I do have everything I need and normally doing a engine swap would be a 1 day deal but I really want this truck to turn out nice, so I can easily see 2 weekends just to paint and detail the engine compartment, also my 5 yr old son is helping me so nothing happens real fast.

Thanks for the offer to help and congrats, have a great time on your honeymoon.

I can see the 5 year old slowing things down. I did that with my parents when they used to work on cars. As for the work though, 2 weekends is pretty good, sand and paint the compartment, clean up the engine (if you need too) then drop that baby in. Teach the kid how to spray paint professionally, and to install en engine.

I just did a really clean motor swap tore down to short block, cleaned, cam+lifters, valve seals, gaskets, paint intake, exhaust, engine compartment cleaned and painted ect, ect, ect.

Took a little over a week at 4 hours a day with a lot of complications from crappy aftermarket parts and a guy helping me who is a bit like a 5 year old, also swapped a lot of extra stuff and did Hydroboost conversion.

Motor is in, running, driving. Hauled 2 bikes and towed 2 vehicles on my trailer already and a LOT of loads of tools/parts. Putting it to the test and it's doing great, not as much power as I'd like but it never is. Haven't done the frame splice yet and that has to wait now until other projects are done.

P.S. the Hydroboost has been the BEST upgrade I have done to the truck by far.

Sweet. I've read a little about the hydroboost. I'll have to do some research. I just don't know much about it. Other than everyone says the same thing.

I've wanted to look into the Hydroboost but then I would be pushing more important things back further.

With a vacuum booster you get up to 2,300 Psi of line pressure and the Hydroboost up to 3,500 Psi of line pressure and it takes a lot less pedal effort, before where I was having to use enough pressure to have to rotate/displace my hips it now is a matter of merely using the range of motion in my ankle. The required pedal pressure to stop the truck is near equal to my fiances 2007 Honda Accord.

And I have also been pulling my trailer with no brake controller, with vacuum booster I could barely get it to stop on level ground with the trailer empty, with Hydroboost I only had marginal issue once stopping from 50Mph on a very steep downgrade with the SouperCoupe on the trailer, roughly 10,000 Lbs combined weight.

I should probably start talking about all this elsewhere as it seems I've unintentionally hijacked this thread, but it is bumping the thread to the top.

Haha we all kind of hijacked it. Whoops! Back on topic though, so the new plan would be to meet up either in the parking lot or nearby then cruise into the show as one group? Too bad we don't have an FTE banner... Maybe down the line we can get a small one made with a simple design and the site name with our chapter. It would be good for these kind of events where there are a lot of people passing by. It gives a good chance to advertise the chapter.

Would REALLY advise anyone looking to make a banner to ask around concerning Copyright Infringement.

Have know a few guys with other forums get there A$$ in a sling due to that.

Meet and have a group drive in would be cool.

Yup, that was a concern I had thought about. Same with getting a sticker made for my Bronco. I'd consult a SuperAdmin with the design fist to get the OK then I'd get it done. It wouldn't have Fords logo on it so that's clear. Just the copy right stuff for this site in particular. It wouldn't be anything real big either, just maybe like 2'x1' fabric with the website name and maybe "Washington Chapter" on it. Then hang it from my bumper or something. Too bad I'm poor and can't buy something like that
