What is this?

So, I've just gotten this 1976 F100 Styleside and it's got a little chrome gizmo on the inner right side of the bed. It's only on the right side. Anyone have a guess?

Agreed, looks like it came off a screen door. Must have been something special purpose that a previous owner needed for what he was doing. Maybe NumberDummy has an idea.

Are there holes around the rest of the bed where it looks like there were more of these things mounted? if there is it looks like a tonoue cover bow support, or maybe was some sort of place to prop a rod to stop cargo from slidin? if there no other holes I ain't got a clue lol

Yeah, that's the weird thing. It's only on the right side. I didn't know if there was some crazy farmer's accessory that I was missing out on. But it does look like it's a screen door latch. Thanks guys.

Yeah, seems that way.

On a somewhat related note, is the build sheet tucked in the seat back or underneath? I'd like to see if there were any options on the truck at all. Seems like the only thing that's fancy is the hook for my hat behind the driver's head!

Looks like there are very light outlines for three more of these. It looks like these were some kind of bracket to hold bars that would give some support to the tonneau cover.
