Replacement wiring harness

The tired 352 is out and a fresh engine is waiting. While removing the old one I couldn't ignore the deteriorated condition of most of my wiring. The fact that I broke one of the connectors added to my concern. I want to stay as close to original as possible an replace all that I can. Found mention in previous threads about Mr Mustang (www.mrmustangparts.com) and contacted them. They have four pieces that they say fit 64-66 F100. Can anyone confirm that these are interchangeable with my 66 F250 camper special? Mr Mustang calls their pieces 1) engine gauge feed, 2) firewall to headlight harness, 3) generator harness, and 4) tail light wiring.

Don't see why they wouldn't. You have a 352 and I have a 360 in my 1965 and have used the engine gauge, firewall to headlight, alternator and tail light. Don't think there is a difference for 1965 or 1966 using a V8 and 100 or 250 in the very basic wiring.

Not that knowledgeable with regards to the differences between F100 & F250 wiring circuits, perhaps more knowledgeable member can help. I would think if there are any significant differences it would be in the 'dash' harness which I have not been able to find. Installed a set of harnesses from Mr. M in my 65 and very pleased with the quality, I suspect the thread you came across were my comments. I believe Mr. M and the other Ford part supplier's get the harness from the same company? Perhaps another member can provide input on their experience with the harness?

Posting a copy of the harness price sheet I had from several yrs ago:

Posting a pic of the alt. harness, not sure if I still have pic's of the other Mr. M harnesses.

The differences are subtle...by the gauge feed...are you referring to the alt and oil pressure gauges ?? If so thats a plug and go harness..not hard wired to the main dash harness. I just picked up a nice original harness for my 65 CS as my original has a cut ignition switch part...
Theres 2 tail light harness and they vary by wheelbase and bed style...the harness from the frame by the steering box to the rear is one harness...hard to find uncut. The other is the one that runs across the rear of the bed...typically cut for trailer crap etc...those 2 harnesses would be truck specific..unless Mr Mustang has/had someone with a truck wanting them to repop a harness...given those are pretty basic harnesses i wouldnt think it would be a huge deviation from cars.
The main dash harness which has ignition switch wiring and fuse block etc doesnt go under the hood at all except the brake light switch wirng and the 2 plugs for the firewall disconnects. the engine harness which would have coil and temp sending unit wiring etc plugs into one of the main disconnects..the other is the headlight harness which as i recall plugs into the alternator harness which has the voltage regulator, starter relay and horn relay. the headlight harness is the one the rear light feed plugs into.
The alternator harness would be the other harness most similar to the cars as well...wire lengths prolly being the biggest difference..but thats just an educated guess.
FWIW, on my rig, for the main dash harness there were 3 different harnesses used in production throughout the 1965 model year run...only 1 service part replacement though as i recall...Im not sure about 66 but i do have a 66 harness from a CS I parted years ago...Theres other harnesses I have on hand as well...window washer etc...What the last six of your s/n?? I always try my best to get or look for things as close to the assy date as possible..the harness has an assy date as well on it...in the FoMoCo tags that were wrapped on it..theres a couple typically and they are brittle so to read/decipher you gotta be careful to not mess them up.

The tail light harness I have is for a lwb styleside and runs from the firewall all the way to the back and across to the passenger side. It covers the whole ground from driver's tail light to license plate light to passenger tail light. I believe mine were from NPD.

Thanks for your insights, very helpful. I've ordered the set from Mr Mustang so will see them next week. compare to what I have and be able to report back. Came across Narragansett Reproductions (Wood River Junction, RI) who look to be able to reproduce almost anything but pricey. I will be looking to them for anything I still need. Would like to hear if anyone has ordered from them. Thanks again to all.

Nope, it was one long harness that I had to thread through the frame in the back. It directly replaced my one long harness that had been hacked for trailer lights or some such.
