Psngr sd P/window comes off track
I have a 1996 Ford Explr 2WD V6 and the passenger side power window track slips out of alignment from time to time. I have to get a flat ruler and push the upper guide (or whatever it's called) back over so I can roll the window up.
Can anyone give me some insight on getting to this part and fixing it once and for all? I've removed door panels before but they never go back on snug. I can't even find where this panel comes off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure this is exactly the same issue. The driver's side window on my 97 Mountaineer was definitely off track, because the weld holding the window guide within the door broke. The fix was to take the inner door panel off and install a couple of sheet metal screws. No problems since that R&R.
Just a couple of screws hold the door in the middle. To remove the panel start prying gently around the edge with a putty knife, starting on the bottom of the door. With the knife sliding between the panel and door you will be able to feel the plastic fastners. They pull straight out. Don't scratch the paint, take your time. The panel will lift off at the top.
Once the panel is off, check the operation of the window to see what the problem is and correct. If you need some new plastic fastners for a tight fit you can get replacements at either Lowe's or Home Depot.
Hope this helps.
