Need help please

I have a 2001 f250 4x4 v-10. When I put the truck in gear, it makes a loud clunk. So I replaced the rear uv joints hoping to fix the problem. This didn't help at all. Also, when its in gear and I'm at idle speed, I can hear and feel some type of grinding. When I hit the gas, and put torque on everything, the noise goes away and the truck runs fine. Only when there is no torque applied is when I have problems. Are the two issues connected? Any info would help. Thanks

The clunk can be made by the slip yoke on the drive shaft being dry(no Grease), see if it has a grease fitting, if not you'll have to drop the shaft and grease it, mark it before dis-assembly and assemble in the same orientation. See if that helps.
