Gas Springs For Hood

Gas Springs For Hood
Hi guys,
I tried searching but to no avail. I went to raise the hood on my F250 SD yesterday and thought it odd that the hood didn't come up on it's on and knew something was amiss when I had to lift and hold it open. So I guess it's in need of new struts or gas springs or whatever they are called. Can anyone advise me as to where to go to get replacements? I'm sure the dealer would probably be the most expensive but also maybe the best quality although I'm thinking maybe Autozone, Riley's or NAPA might do just as well and cost less.
Thanks in advance

i bought some for my explorer at Advance Auto.
they lasted a few months before they stopped working. but, hey ... they have a lifetime warranty, right? .... waste of time and money, IMO. (Strong Arm brand, FWIW)
i'd check a truck accessory store. one that sells toppers and fiberglass tonneau covers. the one here locally seemed to know how to size them correctly by length and PSI.
good luck!
