On the way back from Yellowstone, a friend of mine spun off the highway, on glare ice in my ex & 4 place trailer We are all ok, thankfully and i was able to straighten the trailer out and get back on the freeway We didn't hit anything and went off on the right shoulder. Question on how does a body shop repair the damage to the quarter panel? To replace the whole panel, would be a project! The bumper/brackets/painting/sensors should be easy. I'm not sure if my insurance or his would pay for this accident?
I like your positive thinking I was really upset about it, but after a while i realized how lucky we were, that we didn't get hurt or hit by those semi's going past us at 70 mph!
That little bit of work they should be able to mostly straighten, worst case a small cut and patch, but wouldn't need the whole quarter., I'm glad everyone came out OK.

Snowmobiling in Cooke? It could have been a lot worse. When I read the title I was expecting to see a lot more damage.
repair, i had to have kinda the same damage fixed when a escape hit me as i was making a left turn. easy fix for a good shop then paint the QT panel and blend. really sorry to hear but i'm glad your all ok!
Ya might want to weigh the cost of repair against the possible increase in insurance premiums you may get if you go through your insurance. It may be cheaper to pay for the repair yourself. Just a thought. Good luck.

My truck is insured by/for me, just never had this happen. I have $1000.00 deductible, ill get a couple of estimates. I think it would be around 2k to fix her up.
I would talk to your agent and explain what happened and see which way they would advise you go.
The insurance companies could/would use any questions you ask them in a Clue Report, that is future claims you may make against them. This report helps them figure out your future rates/hikes! The repair cost is $2,100.00, with a $1000.00 deductible that my friend that was driving is willing to pay. Is this fair or do we split it 4 ways?

My agents have been good to me. As long as I don't file a claim there is nothing used against me.
I would probably have your friend pay the 1,000 deductible and be done with it.

I'm sorry...I've taken many years of "group" trips towing our boats 14+ hours up to northern Minnesota...only 2 people's vehicles were driven towing 2 boats.
The owners of the trucks never paid for fuel on the trip it was a GROUP TRIP.
IMO...any of you "could have" been driving...the outcome could have been different for each individual driver...but the fact of the matter it was a GROUP TRIP and I think the fair thing to do is split the $1000 between the GROUP...your friend (unless he was clearly driving recklessly) is just a member of the group and should not have to foot the $1000 solely...nor should you...the fair and honorable thing to do...SPLIT THE DEDUCTIBLE WITH THE GROUP.
Glad no one was hurt but the Ex that can be fixed.
