Nasty cold, windy & rainy here all day today. Could be much worse as we've had almost no snow here this Winter. Saw some news on the storm out East... more than 40" in one location. Hope all of your Eastern FTE's are safe and digging out.
Up here, we welcome a wood fire, lol. On a smaller scale of course.
Just went bombing down the road for a couple miles in the '99 Ranger. About a foot of snow so far, no plows yet at all. And still 30mph gusts. Oughta be a fun 45 mile ride in the morning.
It was 70 this morning at 6 AM, now it is all the way down to 64. We don't get much of a winter here in this part of Texas. But I am too busy working on work to be able to work on the truck right now.
Oh down to 64°, you really have us northerners feeling for you. To really have us pitty you you really need to include the "breeze chill factor", I'd bet it makes that 64 feel like 62. I really feel for you

I'm not working on any of my trucks, they're all in winter storage for at least the next three months. I am however working on another project, my '37 Buick. It's in pretty rough shape but I getting some of it done.
These are pictures of the rear left quarter. I cut out a lot of rot and had to reconstruct some pretty complicated pieces:
It helps to have a nice warm shop to work in. Business shop during the day, play room after the work is done for the day.
Bob, it is really getting bad now, lows in the 40's! And predicted to get into the 30's this coming weekend with highs in the 60's. But all is not always wonderful when it gets well over 100 in June, July, August, and September...
I must say that I get more done on my build in the colder months than when it is warm outside. I fire up my Ashley stove, turn on my tv to a 60's or 70's music channel and I could hibernate in my shop all winter. I have no windows in my shop and I don't have a clue whats going on outside other than maybe high winds or heavy rains.
It's hard for me to leave my shop at night when it's in the mid 70's in the shop and the house is actually cooler.
We haven't had many bad winters in recent memory here, but I am tired of the cold damp garage floor. By the time I get the garage warmed up after work, it's time to go inside and be part of the family awhile before bed time.
Winter is not so bad, it's just a matter of having the right cave to hibernate in.
Pantry is stocked, Wine celler is stocked, Firewood is stacked, Let is snow.

I suppose you don't even have to have the A/C on to be comfortable -- well at least we don't have to throw ice blocks in the pool to swim in June/July !!
