You could just run a DOC/DPF delete pipe that bolts up to the factory stuff. Its literally 30-45 mins on and off. If you have to pull that once a year thats not bad. All dealers are different. You could feel them out on the issue. Some will work with you and help you out if they feel you arent abusing the truck.

I've had a 7.3L turbo and I have a 6.4L. I admit the 7.3L will last longer and get better economy, but have more power? Not a chance, not even close. If you can't modify the 6.4L I would suggest that a 06 or 07 6.0L would make a good choice. A lot less trouble than the eariler 6 liters and can be "bullet proofed" without breaking any federal laws. Just a thought.

I have a friend with an 08' 6.4L and his truck was going in and out of regen. The exhaust pressure sensor was the problem. It's one of the three in/around the DOC/DPF in the exhaust.
