i am having hella problems with front suspension and steering...when i make left turns the steering wheel "sticks" and the truck pulls to the left the only way i can correct this while driving is to jerk the wheel to the right. as this is a seemingly dangerous situation can someone please help? vefore i have to spend tons of cash at a shop bucause i cannot wihthin my skills find the problem.
NOTE: all front bushings are poly, radius arm bushings replaced with poly. shocks are still factory, brake pads and rotors are new.
Could this be a caliper locking up?
it could be your gear's are screwed up i had a simaler problem on my 91 f-250 and i changed the steering box and it went away it steered like a hole new truck when they took apart the steering box the geares where all mangled up and stuff
I have a 1994 Ford Explorer and it does the same thing only mine sticks to the right. Mine is intermittent sticking not constant. Although when it sticks now it seems to be worse. I thouhgt that I might be a gear problem. Because everything else is okay. I will let you know how I make out.
I would think that if there were ecessive toe in or out it would cause tire wear. When this sticking thing started the first thing I did was have the entire front end checked out.
There was an earlier post on this subject that ask the question"Could this be caliper lock up?" This is and area that needs to be looked at. As you mentioned in your post your sticking comes and goes as does mine. I have had problems with with the front calipers.
well i have (properly) replaced the entire fromt end bushings with polyurethane (including radius arms), and brand new upper and lower ball joints evertyhing is greased up. but like i said it comes and goes...it is gone for now...
