Ebpv uh oh.

Attempted to clean ebpv tube and sensor this evening. Long story short, I broke the sensor. Currently I'm driving around without the sensor and the tube not connected. Truck starts and drivess just fine, just wondering what to expect.

Thanks.

Obviously a slight drive pressure leak.

There are quite a few people who unplug them or leave them plugged into the sensor with the manifold plugged.

My personal experience with it unplugged was harsher shifts.

You will be fine until you can replace it, or if you choose to replace it.

Some claim less fuel economy when this sensor is not in use or clogged up. No hard numbers or experiments that I know of yet. That tube and bracket without a sensor on it will get really hot if the tube is clear.

Drove mine for a couple weeks with the sensor unplugged. I saw no drastic changes when I got the new one installed. I did leave the sensor mounted so there was not the open tube.

Ditto. Just one of those things that would keep bugging me knowing it wasn't hooked up and working. I just replaced the fuel heater even though it isn't really needed. But I prefer to know it is there and able to work as needed if it should ever turn on.

Thanks guys! She still seems to be running fine, I can't really tell any difference. My main concern is the fuel economy but I have yet to drive it any real distance with the broken sensor and yes, the tube is not connected to the exhaust under the truck.

And I'd like to give a huge thank you to FTE supermember Snuggyworm, who's becoming a very close and dear friend to myself, for his help in assisting me. That guy really likes to work on trucks. Even though it was mine we were working on, he just could not seem to let me do any work. I had to practically beg him to be able to work on my own truck. Too funny!

Thanks Snuggy!! Your truck (F350 4 x 4 dually 6.0) is a blast to drive!

Pics coming.

Thanks.
TCR, when trying to remove mine, the brass metal (threaded part) broke flush with the HPOP front gear cover. I drove it that way for a year before finally getting around to replacing the cover and installing a new sensor.

I did notice about a 1.5 MPG difference while it was broken.

I saw better econ after replacing my sensor as well. No hard numbers but went farther on full tanks afterwards.

Worse.

I'd have never fixed it if it was better!
