Looks like a pretty decent foundation to start with, or just get her running and go! Truck is near Columbia, MO, so it's within reach for a bunch of folks. I wish my truck looked this good when I started my build!!!

Very nice, if it was close to me I`d be very interested.
I also like this 56 Vicky, they would certainly make a nice pair in my garage! 56 ford victoria
I guess I have, but didn't know it! I ran across this pic some time ago and wondered why someone would put the fill for a '56 on the drivers side, but perhaps it is an additional tank added.
Now that I think about it, I think there was a thread some time ago about a ratted F100 that only had one tank, but holes on both sides like this truck.

I have seen this pic of the '56 before in one of my books.. I think it is an early prototype. And the gas filler and tank had not been moved yet.
Notice the argent painted hubcaps and the black painted gas filler cap....
if my 54 had looked that good with what looks like a nice motor and tranny i'd be a lot further ahead of where i am now....and for LESS MONEY!!!
another example of"too late, too smart". sometimes i just want to kick myself in the ****.

Abe, I too have a factory photo showing a 56 with the driver side filler. Mine looks to be of a copper color truck which I have never seen any other 56 that color.
My panel once had dual fuel tanks, the stock underfloor one specific to panels and one in the rear between the frame with the filler in the center of the rear pan. There was a selector switch (valve) in the floor beside the driver's seat. I don't think it was original to the truck since they were plumbed with aluminum tubing.
Hey Kevin, that was me that posted the picture. I didn't remember where I had seen it, and since I put in a 'do not track' programme I can't go back. But I Googled a bit and found it. It's called a 1955 F-100, but it clearly has the '56 body. Perhaps it is a prototype as Abe said. Anyway, it is here: 1955 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck
