Speedometer affects E4OD
I dont know much about automatic trannys. (this is the first i ever owned). My problem when I bought this truck It was described to me as having a shudder when going down the road. My brother in-law took it to some ghuy who said it was the tourque converter. When I got the truck the speedometer didnt work. I drove it provably 300 miles with no sign of any shudder at all. The only thing I noticed is that it seemed to shift a little hard from 1st to 2nd when cold.
I fixed the speedometer today and like magic there is now a shudder when driving down the road. It starts in 3rd gear @ about 35mph up to 45mph. When it shifts into overdrive the shudder is there at about 55-65. I'm figuring this has to be caused by feedback the computer is getting from the speedometer, and not mechanical in nature. But I'm at a loos here and turning to you experts !!!

Sounds to me like the famous e4od tourque converter shudder.
Eventually it will kill your tranny. I don't really think it's anything electronic. I went through the same thing and ended up rebuilding it when it blew.
