Non-recurring issues
Driving home to Baltimore a few years ago my driver's front brakes seemed to rub on something - the wheel was going 'squeak squeak squeak" for 27 miles until I got home. Never happened again.
This past Christmas, go to start up and nothing comes on, but the barest flickering of a few of my dashboard lights, along with some clicking. No starter, no radio. Playing with stuff to try and gauge if it was dead batteries, I turned on the headlights, which were fine. After the lights were on, the truck started fine.
Last week, my truck died in the middle of the road. It behaved as though it wasn't getting any fuel. After getting towed home and putting fuel in, it wouldn't restart. It became apparent, thanks to advice from here, that my batteries were too low to start the truck. Apparently they were too low to turn on my fuel pump, because once charged, the fuel pump came on (although it does sound a little off. I don't want to replace it if I don't have to, but it might be worth the $170 for the peace of mind - if that's even what caused my truck to crap out in the first place).
So, anyone else get weird gremlins that only pop up once?
