The only "banjo" I'm aware of is the fuel fitting at the carb. That's assuming the 8N has one. The contenential 4 cyl on my TO30 does and it's essentially the same engine.

I have worked on several 8N's and I have no idea what they are talking about . If you are sure the slipping is in the diff 1st pull the brake drums and check the axle ends and hubs . The axle ends are splined and fit into hubs that have the wheels studs in them .

Thank you gentlemen I appreciate your input and thoughts. I am like you are I have never heard of "banjos" in a differential. This term came from and OLD school tractor mechanic who has since left us. When the weather warms up nicely I am going to go through this tractor, I am hoping to adapt it to a flat head V8, new clutch, rebuild the brakes, and go through the differential, install a frontend loader on it, and a badly needed paint job. It's one of my tinkering projects. I just thought if anybody knew what the differential "banjos" were I might be a little ahead of the game LOL. I have a complete shop repair manual, very detailed, but can't find anything refered to as "banjo(s)". Must be an old school term. I will definately report back on the progress of the tractor restoration and especially if I learn what the "banjos" are. Thanks again for your input.

My wife doesn't understand that railroaders showed the the post office how it's done...we work in everything everyday. We don't need cheesy 17 holidays a year (wouldn't complain on that though). For some reason she's quite concerned that since the schools are closed up here, and she's not going to work...that I shouldn't either.

Wally, that was more a hint toward a group dysfunction than a individual get together. But I copy ya' loud & clear.

Gentlemen, somedays it doesn't pay to get out of bed. I was thinking yesterday would be another regular day (short of the frozen crap on the ground). I was wrong and it never ceases to amaze me how things can "spiral out of control" to the point that an easy day has turned into a nightmare. Thank goodness I get paid by the hour...ca-ching!

There are also banjo bolts on the 6.0L and 6.4L on the front of the head at the ends of the fuel rails....sort of a Ford product. I know Scott, I'm talking about a 6.0L and you stopped reading several minutes ago.

Are you sure you don't work for a bank?

Also found pictures & a part number to go behind the old IDIs for a flywheel housing to SAE 2 bell. Just gotta find one now.
