Time for a patch?
Learning the body work phase of my restoration. The back panel of the cab is kinda lumpy. It has some rust pitting and dents both ways. By that I mean some of the dents were caused by striking the inside of the cab. The top half also buckles in and out as I hit it with my hand. Is it better to weld in a patch or try to pound out the dents. I have a picture that doesn't really show much.
Also, another question if I may. Should I be worried what type of primer I am using to block sand this truck? I am using plain old automotive primer/filler. I plan on doing a nice paint job after the body work is done.

What I am seeing in the pics is pretty minor.....definitely do metalwork IMHO...work with very, very light taps from the outer of the circle to the inner with a hammer/dolley. The pitting, that should be sanded down to bare metal to really see what is going on but IMHO, that's really minor.
For an interium, yes, the spray can primer is fine but I would highly recommend an expoxy primer of the same brand of paint to are going to eventually spray.
