2007 Ford E450 Idle Issue

Hi, I am new here, and this is my first post. I am looking for some help with my 2007 Ford E450 Super Duty. It is a 6.0 Diesel with 165K. I hadn't had any problems with it until about a week ago, when the vacuum pump went out and was replaced. Everything ran fine for about 1,000 miles until this past trip. I do some heavy hauling with it, about 20,000lbs. I was driving up the road and noticed it was a little rough. I slowed down and when I got close to idle, the oil pressure dropped, but as soon as I pushed the throttle, the oil pressure went back up. I checked the oil level and it was fine and finished the trip home. When I got home I changed the oil and started it back up, and the oil pressure light was no longer there but it is still idling rough. As soon as you gas it, the miss goes away. The only down part was when I took out the drain plug, it had a few shards of metal about 1mm long in the drain plug. I don't know to much about diesels, but could anyone help? Thanks!

Welcome to FTE.

Since your issue is engine specific, I've moved your thread to the 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel forum.

If you have other questions or issues with the E-450, you can cruise on down to this forum:1968 - Present Full Size Vans - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums and post them there.
