Ok guys...ive asked til i was blue in the face..still cant find anything on this. I'm swapping my bench seat for 2 low backs from a 73 bronco. I understand the seats are the same..but the tracks are not.
1. Do i need to change the tracks to get the seats to mount on the brackets right?
2. Do the tracks from early mustangs bolt straight up to these seats if I take the tracks off.
Anyone? I'm picking up the seats this weekend and working on them. I didn't know if the bronco tracks HAD to stay with the bronco buckets cuz the flip forward feature of the seat..or if I can take the tracks off and the mustang tracks will readily bolt on..
Jesse, What I know, There are brackets that mount to the floor that can be removed from the seat. There are two of these out near the doors.
Going to 2 seats will require 4 brackets. Best thing I know is set them in place and see how they line up, then do what modding needed to make them work.
I getcha. Everybody was saying that the seats were the same ( I know) but the tracks were different. I didn't know what they were getting at? Either
A. That the tracks are different but you'll have to keep them on for that seat or..
B. That ill have to change them out for the mustang tracks which leads me to..
C. Would the tracks even match holes etc. For the leveling brackets on the floor.
This has been my thinking haha
Can do blue oval! From what I understand..once I get the pitted brackets off from the bronco seats..the bolt stubs line up with the leveling brackets like on the mustang tracks
That would be neat! I most definitely will take pictures of the seats when I get them. If you want a write up..hmm..I most certainly can! Tell me what you would like to see in the buildup. I'll probably do a tear down..inspect the foam and any metal moving parts..repair if need be..paint, lube..put new foam on if needed..then put on new upholstery.
For the nth time, you cannot use the Bronco only seat tracks, as they cannot be used with the 4 brackets that raise and level the bucket seats when installed in F100/350's.
1966/77 Bronco's: The floor pan is lower on the right side than the left side.
The right bucket seat back was folded down, then the right seat track was designed so the entire bucket seat, including the track, could be flipped forward, so people could access the back seat.
1966/77 Bronco seat tracks are right and left one piece assemblies.
seeing how i gotta change the seat tracks..are there any certain years of the mustang seat tracks that i need to stay away from or will any 64-69 track set work
Ok. I bought a set. They need paint but all the hardware is there mostly. I gotta find a floor stud for one of the tracks cuz one is missing but I think my bronco seats have it so ill see
Alright fellas..pickin up the seats tomorrow. I've been lookin around for reproduction upholstery and seat foam. I forget who.but I believe it was Harte3 or Hio that gave me a link to a company called Tmi. Whats weird..is that their repro mustang upholstery/foam is cheaper than the Bronco stuff!! Since the seats are identical..there shouldn't be a problem just using the mustang stuff as it is cheaper correct?
