Ok so my truck build has changed. My fat fender is going to use a Ranger frame. So it seems this 6 quart front sump pan will be useless. The local rod shop has a frame swap done with rear sump 302. The guy was more than willing to show me what he did to get the rear sump 302 to fit. And when we were done going over everything, he said " good luck" with the cleveland install. the 302 was tight and the C will be even tighter.
Now these rear sump pans for fox bodies look like they should work. however the price tag does not set well with me. Im very curious if anyone has just fabricated their own rear sump pan? I still have my factory pan. Its damaged, but the mounting face area could be used as a base for fabrication. Or stock and 6 qt pan merged together. Using the canton pan layout they publish to show clerances.
Can you use the 4x4 351M-400 rear sump pan ? If you are using an auto trans, I'd stay away from any aftermarket pan. Everyone I have ever seen butts right up to the bellhousing making it impossible to get at the t.c. studs.
No on the auto trans. I will be using a 5 speed. The 351m, 400 pan does fit the C, however an OE is about impossible to find. I havent found any OE replacements. But i did find the aftermarket racing ones. And like i said the pricetag on them is kinda crazy.
