anyone know if there are such things as load sensing shocks. like when you bounce the bumper they automatically stiffen up after 3 compressions and rebounds
What you just described sounds to me like a normal shock absorber. I'm not sure if there is such a thing that isn't computer controlled or not. I can say they weren't put in these trucks, and they would be EXPENSIVE to put in. There is the option of air bags.
I'm not sure what you want. From your description you want a shock that gets stiffer the further you drive, the shocks constantly move as you drive.
Monroe sensa tracs get stiffer towards the end of travel while staying less stiff in the middle of the stroke.
well it is what i want and it is nice but it is what they do you bounce it a few times. (not like little bounce big ones that make the shocks travel around half way) and then they stiffen up considerably
just looked i a am 99 percent sure the shocks are factory
If they are factory ford f truck equipment, they are a regular gas charged shock.
Nothing special. If you think they are original, got a part # or vehicle listing? Are you looking to beef up grandpas '79 f150 with the 400 and 2.5 rockwell axles that goes to the scrapyard pulling a 4 axle semi dump trailer?
no lol he already has like 200 dollar shocks on his. as far as part numbers go i dont think so they are pretty rusty which is why i figure they are factory and the truck has been in the family since brand new. i asked every mechanic around and i stumped all of them. ohh and it was a tripple axle dualie gooseneck trailer
the vehicle is a 92 f150 xlt with a e4od a 4.9 and apparently hevier duty suspension because my load rating is more than any other persons around. i am using the ratings straight out of the manufacures book. 3.08 gears by the way
on a different note would i need an alignment if i put either different coil springs on or spring spacers. what about shocks that have smaller coil springs on them
