I would buy a GM, but not a Denali. All those bells and whistles will cost you. I have owned lots of GM vehichles and have had very good luck. I also know that the air ride setup is a nighmare especially in MN. $15K is alot of money for that. The Chevy 6.0 is a good engine but it likes fuel.
Nicole has been talking for a while about selling her Expedition, but it is not an EL. It is a 2004 with 88K and a 5.4 and loaded with leather, moonroof and a great vehicle. We got 13.5 mpg towing the sleds to Wis last year and 16.5 on way to cabin this summer.
As for the V10. It is a great engine. It does have a couple small issues but very very very reliable and easy to fix. As for MPG, I would get 9-10 around town and on short trips. It would be around 10.5-13 on longer trips. If you were nice to it I got as good as 16.7 in Canada on a long 300 mile trip at 55 mph. Towing my 5er I would get 8-10 mpg. Trip to yellowstone was 9.1 avg mpg towing and 11.9 mpg empty. That was over 3500 miles towing and 2000 miles empty.
You need to think about it this way. Expedition, probably a 11 mpg avg over a year. Denali, (benefit of doubt) maybe 13 mpg, maybe,
15000 miles a year at 13 mpg = 1153 gallons @ $4 gal = $4612 per year
15000 miles a year at 11 mpg = 1363 gallons @ $4 gal = $5424 per year.
You will save the $800 per year in repairs and longevity. The V10 will go 250K plus or more miles.
Ok rant over. I really liked my V10. Does it show.
Good morning Lee! Like you I have had GM's before and would I buy another one....sure. I had good luck with all them. In fact I hate to say it but the biggest repair I have ever had came with the truck I have now when the tranny went out. Now if I was looking for a fullsize suv I would get the Ex for sure over a Suburban or Yukon.

Good morning Dale! I am happy to see that you thought of your 7.3 as god!

Yeah no matter what you buy in town mileage will not be as good. Remember though when you are going down the hill you are basically burning no gas at all.
