Bumper Mod?

First off, does anyone have any knowledge of this bumper? I don't believe it is original equipment, but I really wouldn't know. I looked all over for a tag or label or something, but found none. It is a treadplate surface over a welded steel channel frame.

As you can see from the underneath picture, there is quite a bit of room under there and I'm thinking of possibly mounting a winch behind the bumper and cutting a slot in the front of the bumper and installing a roller fairlead. However, as I'm quickly gaining much respect for the experience, etc of the members of this forum, I'm tossing this out to see if any of you have any opinions, recommendations or ideas you'd be willing to share. I appreciate anything helpful in advance...

Your picture didn't show up there, buddy. But, from the description, it sounds like a Warn Enforcer bumper, but without a pic, I cant be sure.

Any clues why those pictures aren't showing? I looked in the album and it was set to private and I changed it to public. They show on my confuser...

I'll try reposting them...

Oh yeah....What's the "PO"?

The pictures in your album don't work either. Try using photobucket. Just upload the pictures there, and then copy the image link here. That's always a surefire way.
Oh and I was basing my guess both on the fact that the Warn Enforcer has a diamond plate top, and a winch mount on the inside, and Viny's avatar picture (if that's his truck) looks to have the warn enforcer on it, but it's hard to tell.

Homemade/custom built, what were your concerns again.

BTW you have Photobucket, it should be easy to add photos to your posts.

IMHO, You're going to need to reinforce those brackets if you choose to run a winch.
Here, let me try..

The welds themselves look solid, but no attempt was made to box the ends of the channel.
The bolts look like Grade 2 garbage.
The angle bolted to the frame horns is a joke.

But it wouldn't take much attention to detail to fix it right.

Agreed...it nees horizontal reinforcement...otherwise visually from the outside its ok...

Yep, I was wrong, definitely home made. But these guys here are right, it needs some attention. But it looks good otherwise.

I agree, I think it is a bit wanting. My idea was to possibly mount a winch through the same bolt holes that tie that bumper to the frame so it would be attached to the frame for a good solid mount. I suspect that would probably take some custom built bracket to adapt a winch to the frame. I wouldn't expect the bumper to either carry the winch or have the strength for any serious pulling. I'm just hoping there's enough room so the winch would be covered and somewhat protected from the elements.

That is the essence of my idea...

As a while I'm at it, what would you guys recommend to fix the bumper up and make truly as tough as it looks?
