P0238 (high boost pressure). However, if your truck is setting a DTC such as P1211 (ICP out of range) under hard acceleration, this is frequently a sign of an inadequate or failing high pressure oil system and should be addressed. We strongly advise against disabling this type of DTC, as it relates directly to the performance and longevity of your truck's engine.
no im was talkin abot my hpop from what he was sayin thats what i got out of it. or am i wrong an its just my map sensor?
Sorry, I'm on the same page with you now. It's been one of those days.
I'd say if you cleared the codes and are only getting the P0238, I'd say the hpop was a one time issue. But, if you continue to throw P1211 during high boost, you might consider a new HPOP, or Atleast look into it. It may be fine for daily driving, but inadequate if you're running modified injectors etc... I'm no expert on the oil system though by any means. I haven't had to tackle that yet.
ok well every time i hit high boost i get the cel an the only codes im gettin now is the p0238 an a p1249 which is unknow dtc. but i dont get the p1249 every time.

The 2001 powertrain control/emissions diagnosis manual shows P1249 as Wastegate Fail Steady State Test.
Description says: DTC P1249 indicates that the PCM detected the turbo was overboosting.
Subcribing to your over boost problems. This is normal except you have the OCR. Like to here what you find.
Yeah I really don't want to pop for a new MAP sensor unless I can confirm that is the problem. The code only triggers at high boost and not otherwise. OCR should keep the MAP from seeing code-triggering boost levels, so...
I put in my spare (original) MAP sensor this morning. I still got a P0238 code on one hard acceleration. I am, however, experiencing better spooling and less smoke. I would have to say the MAP sensor did help in those respects. Still unsure of why the codes, as I have a MAP regulator, also. It limits the PCM to seeing ~22.2 psi, according to my Aeroforce Scangauge. My analog gauge reads ~1.5-2 psi less than the digital one. When I get a chance, I will run my AE and compare its reading to the others. Since I'm already at 1/2 tank, I'll check my mpgs on the next one for improvement.
Interesting results Roland. I'll try to monitor analog and digital boost pressure this weekend. Also trying to get my hands on a loaner MAP sensor. I'm not having any spooling or smoke issues, just the code w/ regulator. Clay said if it was chaffed wires for the MAP connector the code would trip during a KOEO diagnostic.
Interesting results Roland. I might be able to get my hands on another MAP sensor later this weekend to try, though I'm not experiencing spooling or smoke issues. Will also try to monitor both analog and digital boost.
