I have decided to start work on this 1966 F100 V8 352 3 on the tree (now in the floor). This was the first truck my grandpa bought "brand new". This thing has set out in my dads pasture for about 25 years! I don't have a lot of money now but I plan on trying to save what i can and get it running when i get more money. This will be a very slow build since I work 3 jobs and I'm broke (don't make since I know). I will try and link pics from my Facebook but I also have them in my album. I have only been on this forum for about a week (when I pulled out the truck) and it is tremendously helpful! If there is a better way to embed the pictures just let me know. Thanks
Welcome to FTE & the Slicks forum. Looks like you got yoself a project. I would save the engine & running gear to last, because you have enough work ahead in several areas.
Look for a 73-76 if you would like disc brakes & power steering, and auto tranny. Add some modern conveniences.
welcome from owasso ok and a fellow owner of a truck grandpa bought new.
i just work on mine when i have the $, little at a time.
this is a great place to learn a lot.
Welcome aboard, I like Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing for uploading and sharing photos. Have a few posting options (link, or IMG etc...) Can add titles, additional infor for each image. Just start out with a good plan and keep it organized as images linked to posts that are later reorganized can/will loose the required link info to remain function in the previous posts

Thanks I just took off the wheels to sandblast, paint and get tires for them. I plan on taking off the bed to patch a small rust spot, sandblast and paint. Do you have any suggestions for a good rattle can paint for the frame? Thanks again.

Used as a dumpster/steel bin Standard cab 133,000 miles Trusty ole jeep Rats nest, but didn't eat the wires, thank the Lord! Wish they would have left the breather on "Cleaned up" Cancer, only a small hole and no rust on the pillars. Wheels off, wasn't too hard either. I'm sure this will get some comments lol!
Welcome to the club... and I mean GRANDPA's OLD TRUCK club, too! My Grandad bought a 64 almost brand new, my dad had it, then me. Unfortunately it was destroyed years ago, but in the spirit of the original... I am building a new one! So, you are very lucky (and envied) to have the actual truck AND to have your Grandpa see it come back to life! You have found the right place for all kinds of wonderful advice and answers. Best of luck and Enjoy the Ride!

Thanks! I never imagined so many people would have similar stories. Very cool!
The Patina is fabulous! It's what keeps me from stripping mine down, and day after day I swear it will just get a clear coat and buffing!
I hope like HE77 you plan to pull that engine apart at a minimum. I'll bet tearing it down before attempting to do a thing at all to it will result in a minimal rebuild cost. THROW AWAY THE RIDGE REAMER!! HONE THE RIDGE,.....

I know a lot of people try hard to get there trucks to look like that! I just heard today about clear coating over the rust. Yeah I'm hoping my uncle will help me rebuild the engine. I may be totally missing it but what is the ridge reamer? lol
