Excursion body side moldings

The other day I noticed an Excursion with what appeared to be close-fitting body side moldings on the rocker panels and around the wheel wells. They were subtle, attractive and looked "factory." Anybody know if these are Ford Parts, or aftermarket? I've not noticed them before, and didn't get a chance to talk to the driver.

I would like to see if they can be fitted to a Super Duty with a long box, or if something like that is available for my truck!

Thanks for any info you can share!

The factory side molding I have seen only went between the wheel wells.

Furian,
Those may tbe the ones. The Ex I saw them on was jet black and the moldings were painted to match. Fit close and looked Great!! The matching color made them subtle, very classy. Nice looking Excursion,BTW. I have a soft spot for them because of the great experience I've had with my SD.

I found that picture on Google Images. To my knowledge, only Ford offered those protective moldings and only for the Excursion.

IMO, they look really good but depending on where you live, there could be a lot of rust going on under the moldings. There is no way to know until its too late.

Good point on the rust! We are high and dry here in eastern Wyoming. I was thinking of rock chip protection. Not a lot of paved roads where I hunt. I would have to find one and measure it up to see if parts could be made to work on my truck. I am considering some custom paint and would like to do the molding work at the same time, if it is even possible.

Thanks for finding the pix.

You will likely have to search for the parts in a salvage yard. I did a quick search on eBay and Google and only found two listings, which only included one part, not a set. You may even be required to remove them from the vehicle since the parts are "glued" to the vehicle.

Its not going to be cheap either... demand and supply determine price.

Since you have a SC LB Super Duty, you will have to cut the molding to fit the rear door and bed. The front fenders, front doors, and rear fenders should be an exact fit.

Post up pics if you complete this project.
