My ford build thread

So I have been here for about two years, I came here when I first got my truck. So lets start with a bit of background on my truck! It's a 74 body on a 79 frame I put 10 inch superlift super duty lift springs from super lift on it, and have replaced all the wheel bearings, races, seals, rotors, breaks,u joints, ball joints, tie rod ends. I have put new warn premo hubs. I am in the process of crossover steering now. I also have bought a new borgsden steering shaft as well.So I will be posting pics as I go along but I am also doing a 460 swap as well! Keep tuned there will be lots of pics! And lots of great things to read! So keep posted!

So I am still awaiting my crossover set up so I picked up a xlt tail gate that's straight with all the xlt trim that was sittin in the weeds for 40 bucks! Score!! The trim is in great shape I couldn't believe my luck I just had to sit through a hour or so of UFO stories and big foot sightings lol but worth every minuet and dollar! The middle color matches my truck the top part I will have painted along with my door and fender I am having fixed

i know have gotten the engine on the stand and started to tear it down! the good news is the pistons, crank are good.. its been bored and is a low mile motor! The bad news is i need a new cam do to rust and pitting... but thats ok i am going to buy a cam kit from comp cams with all new lifters, rockers, springs, timing chain and gear to set the cam straight up... i am going to have the block hot tanked and the head ported and polished.. i am hoping to make some good power with this thing i will post some more pics tonight.. keep tuned! i am also going down to get my crossover steering next week!

You will need a 1971 timing set I do believe so its not 8 degrees retarded. But that might apply only to the 351M/400?? And are you swapping the front sump pan for a rear, or did it already have one?
