Hey guys! just wondering if anybody has had any issues with nfab nerf bars. Took the factory ones off today, and the misses needs something in their place! I like the look and the extra step to get in the bed if needed, but they are $525....I dont really want to put the stockers back on because, I just dont like em, and I've slipped off them my fair share of times already.....Thanks
I have the NFab's on my '06 Tacoma for the same reason you are looking. The wife "needed help crawling up into the truck". The only issue I have had is with the powder coating on the leading edge of the steps. After 3 years or so the rocks and crud that get thrown up had chipped it all of and there was some rust starting up. I just cleaned the rust and then touched them up using the Rust-o-leum Hammer finish spray. 3 years later they are still looking good.
The Ford has the factory running boards on it and she is happy with them. If she is happy, I am happy.
Thanks for the input! I took the factory running boards off mainly because for whatever reason I have slipped off of them a few times. Last slip turned into a fall flat on my back in the driveway, they seem to get way too slippery when wet, or frost covered. I think the design of the step from nfab would resolve traction issues. Too bad, because I like the way the truck looks without any running boards but, safety first!
Don't running boards/Nerf Bars help keep the underside and the door from rusting by blocking (some of) what the wheel throws up too? Just another consideration as far as having something there vs nothing.
definitely something to think about, however, It wasn't doing a great job at it! I was actually surprised at how rusty the underside of body is on my truck already......Started thinking of the best way to undercoat in the spring....
