hi everyone, im new to the site and i have a question. im looking at lifting my 84 f150 xl 4x4 a little bit. i was looking at using the 2" spacer that goes under the spring for the front and blocks for the back. But i was wondering can i use the 2" spacer and a 1.5" coil spring for the front lift too?
thanks for any responses
You can't go over 1.5" of lift without a bracket for the center pivot(comes in a kit). You will not be able to get it back in alignment, and your tires will wear on the outside edge.
Welcome to having a Ford with ttb suspension. People really knocked it when it came out because it was such a problem to lift compared to a Chevy or Dodge, but now that all the new trucks have independent suspension and cost thousands to lift, they have let up on these trucks a little bit.
thank you for the reply. where could i find that bracket for the pivot point? thanks again
The brackets come in the kits. The most common kits are 4 inch, but you might be able to find one that is less and has the center pivot drop down brackets, and the radius arm drop down brackets. If you are going to spend the money, you might as well go 4 inches.
