F150; Goal is bigger brakes, solution is 8lug
I've been reading and contemplating.
What would you guys prefer...
Swap in complete ttb d50 and keep coils...
Or
Cut caliper brackets off knuckles and swap gm 10bolt spindles and caliper brackets that are 8lug.
I don't mind keeping the d44
I will be keeping coils and doing long arms
I don't mind going to 8lug and was planning on using a van d60 with disk brakes.
This truck is a driver, will never be used off road, only tows a car on trailer, and will be getting some power upgrades soon.

No need for a complete TTB D50, just swap on the D50 stuff from the steering knuckles out.

I have an older ttb d44 f250 front end that I can steal axles and parts from. Gotta measure it I guess just to check.

It's been done numerous times. Here is a write-up: Dana 44 TTB 8-Lug Swap (lots of pictures) - FSB Forums

But that's what I had mentioned in my first post using gm parts.
I really like the cheapness of gm parts but I like the extra braking of the ford dual piston caliper.
Depending on gear ratio of the disk brake van d60 is, would kinda lead me to do hub swap (if 373 gears) or ttb d50 swap (if 410 gears)
Very frustrating because I have all of these parts available at my other shop...650 miles away. Such a drag.
