All the trailer lights work (stop, turn, flashers) except the head lights (running, park). I dont have power at the rear plugs (large 7? pin or flat4) on the Ex for when the head lights are turned on.
I have done some reading to know that the trailer lights have their own fuses and have check them. The owners manual descriptions are a little unclear. The ones listed as trailer I checked, and all look intact. Is there a fuse that only runs the head/running light power to the trailer? What number is it and where is it located? I have read there is a fuse panel in the engine compartment, but my manual only talks about the one on the dash infront of the driver.

2005 Excursion XLT with factory tow package
Thanks
Don't remember which number it is but it is indeed under the hood. It's on the driver's side.
Just pulled the 1st printing on the 2005 owners manual...
Fuse #6 for the trailer tow relay
Fuse #38 is for the trailer tow park lamps
Fuse #39 is for the trailer tow backup lamps
Fuse #101 is for the trailer brakes
Fuse #115 is for trailer tow battery charge
I did see the "underhood relay box," item 6 on the engine compartment layout page in the owners manual. There is two small black boxes next to the brake fluid reservoir mounted to the inner fender. There is wires leading to them. I didnt open them up yet to see their contents. The contents of the boxes are not listed in the manual.

At least for the 2000 Excursion it is pages 144-146. Your year may be different. If you already knew that pages - why did you say they weren't listed in the manual? I didn't walk out in the cold to get my manual out of my truck, but did click the link provided by the other poster.

If there is an engine compartment fuse/relay location, I dont have any info on its contents. I have been all over the fuse panel in the cab in front of the driver and the trailer related fuses are intact.
Ok I give. I don't have an 05 and so even if I went out and looked up the page number it wouldn't help you. Maybe someone with an 05 will chime in and help you out.
