Looking to install a good set of gauges on my truck before I move to Alaska this spring. Truck is a 2003 7.3 F350 CC Lariat, 115k.
I considered a Edge monitoring system but I am not sure how well the electronics would perform at -30*, so I think gauges would be more reliable.
Right now I am considering adding:
boost, pyro, trans temp, and fuel pressure to my A pillar.
However I am also considering an oil temp gauge to be added elsewhere.
Looking for recommendations on what gauges I should get, my budget isn't huge but I would pay extra for easy install. Looking for close to factory match as possible but I won't obsess over it.
Also since the space below my mirror will be occupied, I am wondering where/how I should mount the oil temp gauge, and is there any other gauges I should look into getting while I'm at it?
You should look at the ISSPRO EV2's. A quad pod with the four gauges you want is $600 and is a piece of cake to install.
If you want the oil temp, it is monitored by the PCM, so if you look at tools that use the OBD-II port, you can get the data there with a simple plug in. I use the Aeroforce Scan gauge and it does a great job. By adding a fuel pressure sensor to the Aeroforce, you can use it in place of the fuel pressure gauge in your pillar. The Aeroforce allows you to monitor two things at a time, so you could have it on Fuel Pressure and Oil Temp.

Looks like that aeroforce gauge would kill two birds with one stone. My concern would be with it reading the oil temp and fuel pressure from the PCM. How accurate will they be vs a mechanical gauge?
Also what is the sensor range on the oil temp? would it actually read -30 if the truck wasn't plugged in?

With the aeroforce you'd be reading FP via an add-on sensor not the PCM. This is the same way it would be with the EV2s (which I recommend as well).
Priced one of these aeroforce gauges with FP and EGT sensors at just under $500 on their website. Maybe there's a vendor on FTE that carries this? It's tempting to put this in place of the tranny temp EV2 I have on the steering column. Still quite a chunk of change to just see two parameters at a time. It just appeals to me keeping things simple in the cab.
